—Hi Sarah:
Sorry, I sleep late, so I will be late 30 minutes today.
Would you mind I delay our class from 10:50~12:30 or we start our class on Friday early?S
Hi Sarah:
I am so sorry.
I need to take 30 minutes to go to your place. I think it will be too late for our class this morning.
Can I change the time today and what time is convenient for you today? Is the afternoon or the noon suitable?S
A student’s email, 10 minutes into our class time. Nothing makes me more angry than a student oversleeping into my time and then having the nerve to request that I extend his class or fit him in somewhere else. I explain it on the first day of every class, you’re paying for this hour and a half, if you’re late or cancel class at the last minute (the night before is okay) then the cost is yours.
I woke up this morning, rushed my chores, printed my handouts, checked the writing assignment and prepared the activity…his responsibility was to show up.
GRRRRRRRR
p.s. I’m such a wimp that I just told him he didn’t have to pay for one of his classes next week. This is why I’m going to be poor the rest of my life.
