I could also use another chance at a game reserve, since my only sighting of the Big Five was a whole bunch of elephant butts and specks in the distance. We caught monkeys trying to break into our car and an ostrich ate our tennis ball, so obviously they’re blacklisted. I did fall madly in love with Kudu and Zebra - which are totally commonplace and made me very uncool among the South Africans. But Whatever. 

Either way, Ithala was magical place and the excitement of searching the open spaces and among the trees hoping to find a leopard, rhino, anything, is incomparable.
